Giovanna M. Acosta (New York, NY) launched an online community at Mighty Networks called "GOOD ENERGUIA" focused specifically on women of color and leveraging one another to offer the guidance or "guise" we often lack.  Free membership at https://gias-guias.mn.co/share/wnZZM6vO5TadVZaT?utm_source=manual.

 

Elsa Aguilera, MSW (Houston, TX) started a new job as Director of Crisis Intervention Program for Communities in Schools in Southeast Harris County & Brazoria County. 

 

21 years ago, Julie Anna Alvarez (New York, NY) launched her Feng Shui business "Happy Chi Solutions."  This September, she launched the evolution and expansion of that business concept: A Life in Harmony x HCS (which stands for "by Happy Chi Solutions"). She also built her new website, www.ALifeInHarmony-x-HCS.com. Julie Anna’s passion is helping people live the lives they desire and with this launch she can offer strategic positive energy modalities to create living and working spaces that support living one's best life using her expertise and deep understanding of Feng Shui, Reiki, Visualization, Meditation, and more. Thanks to what she learned during our pandemic times, she is also able to provide her services and workshops virtually, including her popular Vision Board workshops. All this while she continues to work at her full time job focused on career development within a law firm where Julie Anna will celebrate her first year anniversary in November!

 

Cecilia Aragon (Seattle, WA) received the 2022 University of Washington Latino Faculty Recognition Award for her third book, HUMAN-CENTERED DATA SCIENCE: An Introduction (MIT Press, 2022). Learn more at CeciliaAragonAuthor.com.

  

Andrea Arroyo (New York, NY) is an Honoree of "Harlem Is... Healing, Celebrating Heroes of the Pandemic," organized by Community Works: "Meet artist and activist Andrea Arroyo... she used her art to help heal and to promote social justice."  Also, Andrea’s book "ImagiNATIONS: Art as Solidarity" was just published by NowWhatMedia. Teresa Carbajal Ravet (Austin, TX) was recognized by the Austin Business Journal with a Women in Business Award.  She was one of 30 “female forces” honored on August 25.

 

Anjanette Delgado (Florida) won Gold for her anthology, HOME IN FLORIDA: Latinx Writers and the Literature of Uprootedness, in the Multi-Author Fiction category of the International Latino Book Awards. Plus! the book also received an Honorable Mention in the Non-Fiction category.

 

Aleysa A. Fernandez (McAllen, TX) opened her own home health agency, Amigo Fiel Primary Homecare.  She is now accepting clients.

 

Alicia Rascon (El Paso, TX) joined the Board of Directors at Insights Science Center, an education nonprofit in El Paso promoting STEM.

 

Gissela Torrella (Lake Worth Beach, FL) published her book, TU REAL NATURALEZA, a Spanish language guide to a healthy lifestyle.

 

Mary Theresa “Terry”  Vasquez (Texas) won Silver in the International Latino Book Awards for her book about her father, FROM THE TEXAS COTTON FIELDS TO THE UNITED STATES TAX COURT: The Life Journal of Juan F. Vasquez.  The book also won Honorable Mention in two other categories -- Best Non-Fiction Multi-Author and the Victor Villasenor Best Latino Focused Non-Fiction Book Award.
