Trying to change one's eating habits can be
stressful. If you’re going through cancer treatment it can be anxiety-inducing but try to
remember that it’s an adjustment for the long term, so it will take time and
the process will not be perfect. Here are a few things I learned that will
hopefully be of some help:
●
Keep
it simple with lots of vegetables, fruits, and lean meats.
●
Look
at the ingredients list of packaged foods - the simpler the ingredients, the
better
●
Add
vegetables to your fruit smoothies.
●
Replace refined sugar with raw, unfiltered
honey or with other natural sweeteners like Stevia or dates.
●
Drink
lots of water
●
Try
different foods that have lots of colors.
●
Enjoy eating! If
you’re going through chemo and your taste is gone, don’t be afraid to treat
yourself to soft fresh desserts like Jell-O or a little bit of ice cream
